Rhino Conservation Immersion
Step into the world of rhino rescue at an NGO, a specialized sanctuary where orphaned calves are rehabilitated and rewilded. Bottle-feed babies, shadow the K9 anti-poaching unit, and learn what it really takes to protect a species on the brink.
Track Endangered Wildlife
Using telemetry equipment, we’ll track cheetah and both black and white rhino with expert monitors. This is not a passive experience, you’ll be part of the mission.
Wildlife Vet Experience
On Day 9, join a reserve’s veterinary team for a field immobilization, whether it’s collaring or critical care, you’ll witness an operation that most people will never see.

TENTATIVE ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY

Meet at Kruger Mpumalanga Airport in Nelspruit. We aim to depart at 12h00 so if you are unable to arrive before this time we recommend you fly in a day earlier and overnight at an airport hotel.

We will load up our van and head off on our first adventure, a camping safari in the Kruger National Park home to Africa’s iconic Big 5; Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard.

Starting our safari as soon as we enter the park gates, enjoying a 2 hour game drive in an open game drive viewer. On arrival into camp we will settle into our site and have some time to explore the rest camp.

Late afternoon we then head out on a afternoon drive, an exciting time in the bush as the sun starts to set. On our return to camp we will enjoy dinner and relax around the campfire under the African night sky.

The camp is fully fenced and it is safe to walk around and explore the different viewpoints and attractions. We will camp in 2 person canvas safari tents with a comfortable mattress and pillow. There are hot showers and clean toilets, camp chairs, a gazebo kitchen complete with fridge, cooker and storage boxes, as well as charge points in camp.

Tonight we will get to fall asleep under the stars to the sounds of roaring lions, laughing hyenas and the soft croaking of frogs in the river.

DAY 2 & 3: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Our morning will start with tea, coffee and rusks in camp, before heading out on an early morning safari.

Avid bush enthusiasts love the Kruger in winter as the cooler temperatures and thinner bush make it easier for game spotting. Animals also tend to spend more time around watering holes giving us the chance for some incredible sightings and photographic opportunities.

After lunch at a remote picnic site, we will head back to camp and enjoy our evening in the Kruger National Park, around the camp fire eating dinner and toasting smores.

This camping safari is all about wildlife and outdoor adventure, so we'll experience a guided adventure in an open safari vehicle, where we will get up close and personal with the park's residents. Our professional and passionate Kruger guides will explain and interpret what is going on in the natural environment around us as we travel along the tracks.

DAY 4, 5 & 6: RHINO SANCTUARY

After breakfast we join The Rhino Sanctuary Team for 3 days to get a true understanding into the effects of the rhino poaching crisis in Africa. We will learn about the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned calves, as well as the rewilding and release processes.

We will also meet their K9 Unit and hear about their ongoing monitoring, protection and conservation of the rhino species and their ecosystem. We are really fortunate to get a behind the scenes look into the daily running of the rhino sanctuary and how it evolves over time as the needs and requirements change.

The sanctuary runs a structured and timetabled program that is designed to meet the needs of the rhinos under their care, however as they are a Rhino Sanctuary on call 24/7 the program may be altered at any given time. The Rhino Sanctuary operates a ‘hands off’ approach to caregiving. Their sole purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-wild rhinos so that they can be released successfully back into their natural ecosystems.

We will assist in milk preparation, bottle feeding and boma care, participating in behavioral observations and gain completely new insights into the world of rhino care, rehabilitation and conservation.

DAY 7: PRIVATELY OWNED GAME RESERVE

We bid farewell to the rhino sanctuary and travel to a privately owned game reserve, known as “a place of rivers.” This reserve is a pioneering model for conservation, where communities and wildlife coexist in harmony.

After settling into our accommodations we’ll jump aboard an open safari cruiser and head out on a private sunset drive.

DAY 8: WILDLIFE MONITOR

We will rise with the sun and head out in open cruisers with a wildlife monitor to track wild cheetahs in their natural habitat. We will go behind the scenes gaining insight into the dedication it takes to protect the world’s fastest land animal. Using telemetry equipment, we will follow signals from collared cheetahs.

As the midday sun warms we will enjoy lunch and relax in camp.
After lunch, we venture back into the reserve with a wildlife monitor to track wild Black and White Rhino. So far the reserve have been successful in protecting their elephants and rhinos from poaching.

DAY 9: RESERVES WILDLIFE TEAM

After coffee and a snack ,we join the Reserves Wildlife Team and a wildlife veterinarian out in the field for a rare behind-the-scenes wildlife immobilization.

We will either observe the collaring of an endangered species, or watch a critical medical procedure. The mornings activity will depend on the needs of the reserve. This behind the scenes experience with a wildlife veterinarian is exclusive to our group only.

After lunch, we will set off on our final sunset game drive.

Hi! I’m Kelsey, an underwater photographer, expedition leader, and ocean advocate with a love for wild places and powerful encounters with nature. What began as a personal obsession with the sea quickly evolved into something bigger: organizing small group expeditions where people can swim alongside marine life, explore remote coastlines, and reconnect with something ancient and awe-inspiring beneath the surface.

Over the past 7+ years, I’ve led trips across French Polynesia, Mexico, Norway, and beyond, capturing moments that remind us how deeply we belong to this Earth. My mission is simple: to help others fall so in love with the ocean and nature so that they feel inspired to protect it. Because when we care, we change. And those small shifts in our daily lives? They ripple out.

I’m so excited to share the magic of this place with travelers who crave meaning, depth, and a passion for wildlife, nature and landscapes.

LEAH BELL LEASK

Hi, I’m Leah Kay - a photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. I was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by nature, with both my parents working in conservation and the travel industry. That early exposure gave me a deep-rooted respect for wild places and a strong sense of responsibility to help protect them.

I got my first little point-and-shoot camera when I was 8, took it on a game drive, and instantly fell in love with capturing the magic of the bush. That simple moment sparked what would become a lifelong passion for photography, storytelling, and conservation.

Through my work - both behind the lens and in the marketing world - my mission is to connect people to nature, raise awareness around wildlife conservation, and help protect the spaces and species that shaped who I am. I believe powerful stories can inspire change, and I’m passionate about using my voice and my craft to contribute to that mission.

I’m so excited to welcome you to my home country, alongside my dear friend Kels, for what truly is an opportunity of a lifetime. I can’t wait to share the beauty, the wildness, and the heart of South Africa with you.
